Lyrics

Under every Nigerian sky,
Na laughter tie two wrapper for our matter.
We walk with our heads held up high
You’ll never know we’ve had our shots of wahala.
Reality’s been calling but we put it on snooze
Cause Do-Not-Disturb is our default setting mode
Country hard, sotey even crayfish no dey make condition bend am
And the times are tough so if yanga sleep e no wake, nobody send am.
Our ears have grown accustomed to destruction’s tune
Cause killing and deceiving for this place na the bride and groom
So we wed our worries to the cross of fame and soon-to-bes
We know too many stories of I-no-go-dies
We’ve shed too many tears to let it be crocodile’s
We’ve fallen and risen like it’s demand/supplies.
We’ve known suffering offhand, we dey do freestyle.
It’s been a long time coming
If death and not the absence of death couldn’t scare us
Economy fall, e no rise, we no tear up.
We’ve looked pain in the eyes, real, no filter
Our currency steady losing its value like Elon Musk’s Twitter.
I tell you, in Nigeria, we’ve known hope long enough to tell you it’s native name.
