If Hope was a Nigerian, he would be surprised at what it takes to live up to his name. He would also at some point wish that his light that should shine resplendently be extinguished because of factors ranging from tales of insecurity, plagues of unemployment, jabs of hunger, waves of epidemics, wind of uncertainty, rampage of filicide as Nigeria feeds on the blood of her kids rather figuratively.

He would meet the Ivory Tower of darkness mounted majestically in a country such as ours, he will see beautiful palatial houses of senators whilst impoverished children are left to themselves on the street, disadvantaged widows left to parent a community and youths left at large to engage in nefarious activities of different degrees. Hmmm, Hope would be amazed at what it takes to be a Nigerian.

What would become of him if he had seen the Owo Massacre or that of Lekki's?
Where sat he when trains were attacked?
Did he see the grotesque scene of Deborah being lynched?
Does he have anything about fake prophets, minstrels and a host of many others.
What are his submissions on government officials whose certificates are doctored to politicians who embezzle and misappropriate fund or the left winged citizens who upends patriotism?

And yet again, what measures would be have deployed during the 8 months ASUU Strike, the COVID 19 palliatives?

Would he ever be reticent about our never ending fuel palaver which have gone astronomically high in alarming proportions?

Again, does he know what extent to which naira is devalued?

I must assert that he would dissipate into thin air if he gets to see it hear of kidnapping, banditry and the disheartening takes of the Fulani Herdsmen heralded by some quarters.
And what about folktales of animals who cart away with the money in the country coffers?(He most definitely will be deem this hilarious)

But the synopsis is, he will be strewn with exhaustion and clad with confusion but he will shine nonetheless when he sees that despite what Nigerians have sailed through, they remained inexorably still.

And yes, we are our Hope!
