This poem talks about how HOPE has dwelt among us as Nigerians and has been the olden citizen in quote that motivates other citizens to keep the struggle alive.

Hope is a Nigerian
She has served her fatherland with love and strength and faith
Her skin painted with multiple scars of disunity
For the angels at home against the demons abroad she walks into Death Valley cleaving unto poisonous lillies
To build a nation where peace and justice shall prevail
Beneath her smile is untold tales, of how the gun gone them down too soon
I mean future leaders of tomorrow fighting just to survive today
That night, bullets embarked on a journey to make bodies home
Hope is a Nigerian, she has had her own share of this country’s ‘Palava’
Though her skin trembling with red scars of poverty and unemployment
Her back remained unbent, never breaking to the weight of this corruption in different attires
She loves her motherland though murdered daily
To defend a noble cause she ventures into dangerous waters to peel off layers of fear and offered herself the living sacrifice
Hope is a Nigerian, she smiles irrespective
We look at her and find strength to be faithful, loyal and honest
We pray to the God of our creation, the labors of HOPE will not be in vain
