People are more than the names, categories, and assumptions placed upon them. This poem celebrates human connection, individuality, and the beauty of understanding people beyond appearances or social labels. It is an invitation to approach others with curiosity rather than judgment.

Şarkı sözleri

I have always collected people.

Not intentionally.

They simply arrive
from different places
with different stories
and different ways
of seeing the world.

Some were loud.
Some were quiet.
Some made terrible decisions
and excellent jokes.
Some looked like people
society had already
decided not to understand.

I wanted their stories.

Not their labels.

I discovered
that people become
more interesting
when you stop meeting them
through other people’s opinions.

Some people
my friends became
would have been rejected
by society
before society bothered
to ask their names.

I asked their stories.
That changed things.

A person becomes
much harder to judge
once you know
what they survived.

I have never needed
my friends to be copies
of me.
That would be exhausting.
Imagine being surrounded
by yourself all day.

No.

Give me differences.
Give me strange jokes.
Give me arguments
that end in laughter.

Give me the friend
who knows I am being dramatic
and lets me finish
the performance anyway.

My friends have seen
the 360 version of me

Some friendships
came and went.
Others stayed long enough
to become family.

I have learned
that friendship is not
about finding people
who understand everything
you do.

It is finding people
who can say,
I do not understand you,
without adding,
and therefore
I cannot love you.

The greatest gift
my friends have given me
is the reminder
that belonging
does not always mean
finding people like yourself.

It can mean
finding people
with whom you are allowed
to be yourself.

That kind of space
is rare.
And I have been lucky
to find some of it.
