Helps the mind with expression,
Own up to what has been impressed
Pent up over time
Overwhelmed by life's chimes
Everything has its seasons
Tirades of man's reasons
Rend out if the belly of man's feelings
Yet, even as we are breathing
Explanations that we've been given
Prompted by life's dealings
Powerful beyond all reason
Poetry is the sound made my the mind
Like the winds and the chimes
Like rythym and rhymes
Poetry like sand and the times
Make meaning on the soul looking for a goal to be whole.
Those who life overthrew
Those just trying make it through almost unable to cope
Through the the words of hope
Poetry reaches out and touches the soul trying to gain
Insight from inside the pain
If we don't have the words to say to those who have told us nay
As difficult as it is to pray
In difficulty we have learned to adapt
To situations that try to pull us apart.
We walk with a pep in our step
Even when we need help
Poetry is the sound of silence in a world screaming with sirens
It is the exhale for every emotion we have had to inhale
It keeps us sane in a world gone insane
