A blurring of the lines between politicking and poetry reading. Highlighting the importance and uselessness of poetry. Yet seeing the similarities in poetry and politics

Paroles

They say, a shared problem is a topic for discussion.
well I have a problem, lets discuss it.
but before I start I do have to warn
my words aren't part of a genre, or against any gender. but yes I have an agenda.
is it our nation? That's a national topic
the idea that corruption and politics are synonymous
exchange polls for notes, take bribes for votes
he offered change to our sufferings, he offered change for our pockets, so we wore his clothes
who tells us what is a sin
with the right change in, we'll fight change for him
the disease has eaten into the heart of our system, little brother, sister.
listen.
Stop writing and reading sentences in classrooms
the real ruler is outside the courtroom
the rules outside are different.
The system is twisted how else to explain the nations state
went from teacher saying theres nothing in your head to giving your teacher head to get ahead.
That's how to rule sister, take off your top to be on top
First class dragging cleaners positions, mop up after the victims, suit up to protect the villains.
even the corrupt need lawyers, no room for corruption in the law,
everyman is innocent until proven guilty
ha, just like they said bail is free
red handed is just one side of the argument
order in the court, chaos in the country
terrorists rule the streets, live in jungles but do not attack with sticks, stones to break our bones
more finesse is needed like a bullet to the chest
yes yes maybe we do need more cleaners
drop dead beauties drop dead everyday
depression, anxiety debauchery, criminality, frenemy, something must kill a man, even if its konji.
where am I going with this...ahh yes the problem
my problem is with poetry.
have to say I love it, imagine taking over the world with words and audience reactions.
with OOS and Ahhs and don't forget Hmms, love the hmms, I save em in my head, never forget em
imagine Thanos loved poetry, how many snaps would I have gotten?
but if wishes were horses I'd be a horse dont look for sense in my lines, it's a set up
who poetry EPP is the genesis that began its exodus round my head.
to the revelation that the uselessness of poetry in changing a country like mine is as long as dividing four years by zero change....infinity
carefully constructed words don't build a nation
close your eyes picture me speaking, gesticulating, articulating promises, I'm a spoken word artist but you could almost think I'm into politics
huh wait, if manifestos were pieces
and I promised you peace and
I promised that change was taken seriously would you believe it
and if claps replaced the snaps, and cheers replaced the OOS, the hmms and ahhs
replace my lines with lies, replace action with promises.
that would mean politicians are poets and citizens are the audiences.
meaning I'm a political artiste, and country is my jam
and that the president of a nation is like the winner of a national poetry slam
