Lyrics

The sheets know my name,
know how often I bleed words with no man to stop this issue of blood.
There's a flood emerging from my inside,
storms raging against titanic snaps and drumbeats of hands slamming against me,
I mean my peace,
I mean my piece,
each time I pour myself out in riddles and rhymes served at open mics and closed doors.
I watch as many drink my Punch-lines, gulping down every word till they have their fill.
Yet, no one sees me,
no one truly savors the bitter-sweet taste of my truth,
no one knows that each line carries a part of me,
and each part makes the whole of me,
and each poem is just another variation of me
My voice is scrambled and partitioned in stanzas too small to hold the weight of my burdens,
So I cry out in volumes;
"Listen! I am the poem, not the poet"
Do you hear me?
Can you see me?
Can you feel me?
